KaraB was founded by Kara Buttimer in 2003. She could not bear the notion of yet again packing up her plain, black nylon computer bag and commuting to work or even worse traveling for business with it.

Having been in the fashion industry for over 15 years, Kara Buttimer collaborated with a number of factories and friends to create an alternative. Using fabrics that range from neon bright faux patent leathers to sophisticated tweeds, every season offers a new collection of fabulous fabrics and colors. KaraB bags offer fashion-conscious business women a choice.

Kara worked with a Wharton SBDC consultant and participated in a Wharton SBDC Strategic Performance Group as she prepared her business, developed her website, developed her products, and prepared for sales calls and first trade shows in January 2004. She is now filling orders and planning expanded sales.
