John S. Ondik

John is owner of The Ondik Group, a management consulting firm, where he works with large and small businesses and government on a variety of strategy and process improvement efforts. He teaches courses for entrepreneurs and small business owners at the Wharton Small Business Development Center, serves on several advisory boards, and has been a judge and mentor in numerous business plan competitions.

Prior to forming The Ondik Group, he was Vice President of Military Services at Aramark, a Fortune 250 company and one of the world’s leading outsourced services companies, where he started a new business venture providing consulting, food and support services to the military. While at Aramark he also served as Vice President of Business Development, responsible for client service, process improvement and knowledge-sharing activities across 8 business units with $7 billion in revenue, and was a member of the Executive Leadership Council. John was also Director of US Operations for SRS Energy, a solar roofing startup. Previously, he was National Director of Purchasing at KPMG, a leading global accounting and consulting firm, a role he created where he developed and implemented the firm’s first national procurement process. Earlier, John was a consulting manager with both KPMG and Arthur Andersen Business Consulting, and also served as the first Director of Marketing and Business Development for Andersen’s Philadelphia consulting group. He worked as a consultant at the Wharton SBDC, where he was recognized by the Bernard Foundation as the Best Consultant in a Small Business Development Center, and has also been an Executive in Residence at the Science Center, a leading business incubator, where he was the 2005 Executive in Residence of the Year.

John began his career with the US Navy where he spent almost 10 years on active duty as a Supply Corps officer, and retired from the US Navy Reserve in 2008. He held a variety of logistics and operations leadership roles, and was awarded six personal commendations for superior performance of duty.

John holds an MBA in Finance and Strategic Management from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a BS in Business Administration from Villanova University. He also completed an executive program at the Darden Graduate School of Business, University of Virginia. He resides in Havertown PA with his wife Liz, where he was a longtime soccer, baseball and basketball coach, and is active in his parish. They have 3 grown children John, a LTJG in the US Navy and graduate of Georgetown University; Christopher, now third generation in the family insurance business and a graduate of Fordham University; and Alexandra, a senior at Villanova University.
